Deepotsav ’09The festival of lights‘ is Diwali celebration at Rice University hosted by Indian Students at Rice (ISAR). The event will be held on 25th October, 2009 starting 4:30 pm at Grand Hall in Ley Student Center on the Rice University campus.

Dance performance by the “Rice Bhangra” team to kick start the event. The Rice Bhangra team has already earned significant fame in Houston as one of the best exponents of this north-Indian dance form. This will be followed by, a musical performance by ‘Heartbeats‘ a Houston-based band of talented singers that plays popular Indian movie songs – old and new. Their performance will be punctuated by dance performances by talented graduate students at Rice University. Delicious Indian food will be served to all! FOLLOWED BY DANDIYA-RAS!!!
