Tune in Tuesday Sep. 20, 5-6 PM for the hardest hitting drive home where nothing but artists from the inaugural Houston Open Air (Sep. 24-25) will be played, including Baroness, Slayer, Ministry and more. AND hear an interview with festival producer Gary Spivack narrated by yours truly, below is a snippet.

SDP: Houston Open Air has one of the hardest hitting lineups that has hit the city. Who are some of the under appreciated artists that festival goers should see?
GS: GREAT QUESTION,  TEXAS BANDS SUCH AS TEXAS HIPPIE COLAITION AND SONS OF TEXAS AND MOTHERSHIP FOR ONE.  BUT ALSO SPECIAL TREATS SUCH AS CHEVY METAL —WHICH IS TAYLOR HAWKINS OF THE FOO FIGHTERS TRIBUTE BAND.  HE PROMISES NOTHING BUT AN AMAZING SET WITH CLASSIC AND ICONIC ROCK JAMS.  AND EVEN BANDS SUCH AS  NOTHING MORE AND THE AMITY AFFLICATION.

SDP: In addition to the heavy hitting lineup, what makes Houston Open Air a must see festival?
GS: HOUSTON OPEN AIR REALLY HAS IT ALL.  FOR ANY FAN OF ROCK N ROLL.  HERITAGE/ICONIC BANDS SUCH AS ALICE IN CHAINS, SLAYER, THE CULT AND MINSITRY TO NEW RISING TOP BANDS SUCH AS PIERCE THE VEIL, BARONESS AND LETLIVE TO THE BEST OF THE CURRENT ROCK WITH AVENGED SEVENFOLD, DEFTONES AND CHEVELLE.  MEANWHILE, WE’LL HAVE THE BEST FOOD AND BEVERAGE VILLAGES THAT ANY FESTIVAL IN HOUSTON HAS YET TO SEE!
Tune in to find out how Gary Spivack would characterize Houston Open Air in taco form! You know you want to know!
