This year, KTRU will be attending SXSW Music Festival as a part of media! In the next few days, we hope to bring to our followers showcase reviews, interviews, and festival highlights. Here are some items you can look forward to:
Rachel: Focusing on the artists from Asia and the Asian Diaspora, as well as artists from Houston and from sister cities of Houston. Look forward to interviews from The Upside Down, Demi, Pink Sweat$, Daisy, and more.
Hania: Reviewing shows and chatting with artists like Rev Rev Rev, Blushing, Broken Social Scene, Priests, and many more.
Harrison: Focusing on Film and Music on Broadway, including stage production of Broadway shows from films like Mean Girls, Heathers, and Legally Blonde.

On February 20th, Blood Orange, the current stage name of musician Devonte Hynes, performed at White Oak Music Hall in Houston, TX. The performance was part of a tour promoting Blood Orange’s new album, Negro Swan, an album that featured a deep blend of R&B, funk, soul, and psychedelic sounds.
