To understand and explore the music of Gujarat, on today's show we conducted an interview with Mr. Praful Dave from Gujarat, India. Mr. Prafulbhai Dave explains about the music from his state, its origin and the unique amalgamation of dance and music; a signature style of this state. He talks about the more popular Ras-Garba and his favorite style - Dayro!
Mr. Prafulbhai Dave gives us a glimpse of his extensive singing career. He was a practicing physician in India before he took up singing. With much resistance from his parents he still opted to be a singer. He is now one of the world's most renowed artists' from Gujarat.

Global Drums: Puerto Rican master conguero Giovanni Hidalgo, Nigerian talking drum ace Sikiru Adepoju, Michael Hart and Zakir Hussain, one of the world's giants of Indian classical music, a virtuoso percussionist globally acknowledged as the master of his art.

A Great Concert for a Great Cause! - brought by VIBHA

Every single person at the SPB-Chitra concert experienced a foot-tapping, funfilled evening at the Cullen Performance Hall, on Friday Sept 05th, 2008. The voice of S. P Balasubramanium and the K.S. Chitra entertained all hearts’ young and old.

The Padmashree Award winners with their unique singing style made the crowd go wild with joy! The humble and polite mannerism of the Vibha volunteers was experienced at every step, the down-to-earth approach was felt even more with the great artist's, S.P.B. and Chitra. They all knew they were there solely to help the under-privileged children!
