The Aga Khan Foundation Houston presents India’s most respected music composers Salim and Sulaiman Merchant on Saturday 9/17/16.
This duo has scored more than 100 films and composed several records incorporating cinematic, folk, electronica and sufi influences to their music.
They’ve composed for musicals such as ‘Merchants of Bollywood’ and ‘Beyond Bollywood’. Their latest & much awaited Hollywood film ‘Sold’ is already gaining a lot of appreciation at various film festivals.
The duo have enthralled audiences across the world with their live concerts including performing at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2010. Their songs have been very inspirational especially their sports anthem ‘Chak De India’. They have redefined the music scene in India.

Hardik Jani who has made his mark among Houston’s South Asian artists with his par excellence singing style and awesome voice will converse about his journey as a artist from Mumbai to Houston. He is the recipient of the ICC Houston Idol 2011.
In India, Hardik earned the well-deserved award *Voice of Mumbai 2006*. Hardik received accolades for his singing in Indian Idol and SaReGaMa. He has also worked with Bollywood’s acclaimed musicians Shankar Mahadevan, Naresh Iyer and Shriram Iyer.

Hardik is part of Houston’s fusion band *Brahmand*. In India his band *Yuva* members were Bollywood’s famous duo Sachin-Jigar.
