An update on station operations, Outdoor Show and programming.
Rice University has concluded all in-person classes for the semester due to coronavirus concerns. KTRU has continued broadcasting. However, our program schedule is experiencing some interruption in consideration of student and community DJ safety.
Effective March 18, Rice Memorial Center, where KTRU is located, closed. All access to the building was terminated. Live DJs will be off the air for the foreseeable future.
KTRU’s Outdoor Show 2020 has been canceled due to university-wide measures being taken against COVID-19. On Mar. 6, university administration announced that all on-campus public events with more than 100 people are prohibited through April 30. These measures are being taken to minimize close contact among large groups.
